So I’ve decided to take on the task of a DIY aisle runner. Fairly easy to make if you have the patience, which I do.

This will be my third DIY project to date. My first was my save the date inserts. I love how those came out. My second (which is in progress) is our wedding invitations. I’m making six a week in order to get them out in time. Fun Fun.

Here’s what I’m going to do. I was going to have one made for me, but why pay the money when I can just make it myself? Right? Right. I’m going to buy a fabric runner from A.C. Moore (with my 40% off coupon!), along with some black acrylic paint and brushes. That shouldn’t run more than $25-$30. I have to go to Kinkos first to ask them to blow up my monogram to 28″ wide. That will cost about $3. I think I’m also going to paint “…and they lived happily ever after” on the runner too. We’ll see. Anyway, once I have the monogram blown up, I can then roll out runner, place the blown up monogram underneath and start to trace with a mechanical pencil. Once traced, I’ll remove the blown up mongram from behind the runner and replace it with wax paper so the acrylic paint won’t bleed through stick to the surface. Let dry, and voila! A beautiful DIY aisle runner.

I’ll post pics once I’m done. I’m going to start on this project next weekend. I have one of my best friend’s wedding this weekend so I’ll start after that. Heeeee I can’t wait. I love crafts.
